Summary
The improvement of the structure of thin-walled high-strength cast irons with a wall thickness of 2-3 mm and castings with a difference in wall thickness from 2 to 10-12 mm by modification with the FSMg7 alloy was studied. Processing the FeSiMg melt with a ligature with optimized silicon content provides a high level of graphitization of the structure of thin-walled castings. In the 2.0 mm thick wall, the number of inclusions of spherical graphite reached 1680 pieces/mm2, and in the 3.0 mm and 12.0 mm walls – 1180 and 780 pieces/mm2, respectively.
